Are you getting the most use out of your iPad? Here are 7 cool tips and tricks you probably didn’t know existed.

Open a new app in a sidebar without closing the app you’re using.

This is a great multitasking feature. While you are using an app, you can use a different app in a sidebar. Swipe in from the right, and a list of compatible apps will appear. After you tap the one you’d like to use, it will appear in a column next to the app you already have open.

This feature is only available on the iPad Air 2 and iPad Pro.

Play a video on the screen while using another app

You no longer have to stop watching a video while you’re using another app. While you’re watching a video, press the home button to minimize the video to the corner of your iPad’s screen.

This only works in certain apps and is also only available on the iPad Air 2 and iPad Pro.

Search for a word on a website

You can search for any word on a website with your iPad. While you’re using Safari, tap the URL bar then type the word you’re looking for. In the drop-down menu, you’ll see a category called “on the page” at the bottom. Tap it to locate that word or phase on this page.

Make sure “Find My iPad” is turned on

We hope you don’t lose your iPad, but if you do, Apple has a system called “Find My IPad” that allows you to locate your iPad if it’s lost or stolen. To begin using this feature, go to Settings> iCloud > Find My iPad and make sure it’s turned on. You’ll be glad you did.

Take Giant Screenshots

Another great thing the iPad can do is take screenshots of anything you are looking at. When you take a screenshot, it’s at 768x1024 resolution, which is a lot bigger than iPhone screenshots. To take a screenshot, push the top and home buttons at once. The photo will be stored in your photo library.

Attachment Options

Tap and hold an attachment in Mail to view all the installed apps that can open it.

Share your current location

To share your location, open Maps, tap a pin or your current location marker, tap the arrow and tap the share button. You can share location via iMessage, and Facebook and Twitter. If you want your location shared constantly, open “find my friends” and invite the person you want to share it with by entering their Apple ID. Once accepted, they’ll be able to see your location whenever.
